Solarpark Blautal GmbH becomes new majority shareholder of centrotherm photovoltaics AG

  • Sol Futura Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH transfers 80 % interest in centrotherm photovoltaics AG to Solarpark Blautal GmbH
  • Along with company co-founder Robert M. Hartung, Qatar Solar Technologies holds significant indirect interest in centrotherm
  • Change to Supervisory Board

As part of the closing of the purchase agreement that was concluded in December, Sol Futura Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH has today transferred its 80 % interest in the shares of centrotherm photovoltaics AG to Solarpark Blautal GmbH, Blaubeuren. Solarpark Blautal has thereby become the new majority shareholder of centrotherm photovoltaics AG. Along with centrotherm co-founder Robert M. Hartung, Qatar Solar Technologies (Doha/Qatar) hold a significant interest in Solarpark Blautal.

Robert M. Hartung commented as follows on the successful closing of this transaction: "With Qatar Solar Technologies as co-shareholder, we have gained an international strategic partner for centrotherm – and together we aim to direct centrotherm towards the future."

Tobias Wahl, partner of anchor Lawyers, who administered as director of Sol Futura the transferred shares and who held the chair in the Supervisory Board of centrotherm AG, added: “I am happy that we succeeded to find a financially strong partner who has longterm strategic interests and secures the financing of the company.”

Financing agreement concluded
As part of the disposal of the interest by former main shareholder Sol Futura, the Management Board of centrotherm photovoltaics AG has concluded a financing agreement that secures the company's funding.

Changes to the Supervisory Board
Given the change in the shareholder structure, personnel changes also arise for the Supervisory Board of centrotherm photovoltaics AG. Supervisory Board Chairman Tobias Wahl and Supervisory Board members Dr. Christoph Herbst and Wolfgang Schmid will relinquished their mandates in the next days. In the context of these changes it is planned that Robert M. Hartung will be nominated as new Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

In addition to his current duties Florian von Gropper takes on the role as the Speaker of the Board starting 1.1.2016. Boris Klebensberger is as COO especially responsible for Sales and Technology.
